In a country where children and teens are being recruited by gangs, keeping our classrooms open is one of the greatest acts of protection and hope we can offer.
Collège Évangélique Baptiste Emmanuel was the first school to offer high school education in the Bombardopolis community. For many years, students only had access to primary education, and once they completed 6th grade, there were no opportunities to continue their studies. Thankfully, Papa François followed the calling God placed on his heart and opened the high school. With the recruitment of dedicated educators from cities such as Port-au-Prince, the high school division of Collège Évangélique Baptiste Emmanuel opened its doors and has been preparing teens for college for decades. Today, many of our teachers are proud Emmanuel graduates who pursued higher education and returned to pass on their knowledge and passion to the next generation.
Due to the deep poverty and remote location of Bombardopolis, there are very few educational or job opportunities available to students after graduation. And with the ongoing unrest and gang takeover in Port-au-Prince in recent years, many of the opportunities that once existed for higher education have been eliminated entirely. The next viable option for university studies is in Cap-Haïtien, but it offers far fewer programs than Port-au-Prince once did.
Despite these challenges, we continue to believe in the transformative power of education. Our mission remains to open doors and provide every student with the chance to pursue a brighter, more hopeful future.
2025-2026 Tuition Fees
The cost of tuition for our 2025-2026 secondary students is $153-$223 per student for the entire academic year. This fee does not include uniforms, socks, shoes, textbooks, backpacks, or school supplies—expenses that are normally covered by the parent. This year, our goal is to help bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the additional fees required for a child to attend school.
To do this, we have created a scholarship program to assist families during these challenging times and to open the door for more teens to receive an education—whether for one semester or the full school year. Through this program, each student will receive a used uniform at a discounted rate, along with a new backpack and supplies made possible by the generosity of our Amazon Wishlist supporters.
