Eglise Fond-Mare
Emmanuel Fond-Mare was built in 2001 with a mission to serve and uplift a community far from our main campus. Because of the distance and isolation, we knew a satellite church was essential. Reaching Emmanuel FondMa requires traveling a single main road that becomes nearly impassable when it rains—yet this tight-knit community remains faithful, gathering each Sunday to worship the Lord with joy and perseverance.
Idjolson’s Story:
God Made a Way
Emmanuel Fond-Mare holds a special place in our hearts. In 2023, a very special little boy from this community joined our orphanage. For years, we supported him and his grandmother as they faced extreme poverty. She often came to us seeking food, determined to care for the only family she had left. When he began to experience serious medical complications with his leg, we prayed over him and helped seek support for his treatment. After his grandmother passed away in 2023, God opened the door for him to come home to our orphanage, where he is now safe, loved, and surrounded by care.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
There are many ways to support the Emmanuel Fond-Mare campus. The church building is nearing collapse and urgently needs significant structural repairs. Several families in the congregation care for medically complex children and would greatly appreciate support. Our pastors, who face the same hardships as the community, also value sponsorship and encouragement. We hope to welcome pastors from around the world to visit Fond-Mare, preach, and build meaningful connections with our staff and church family.
During our visit in February 2026, the pastors shared their deep concerns about the worsening structural damage to the church. Safety is their top priority, and the growing cracks in the walls pose a serious fall risk—especially for the elderly. The roof is also nearing collapse, putting everyone who gathers for worship in danger each Sunday.
We pray that by sharing the story of this special church and its devoted community, we will connect with those who feel led to support Emmanuel Fond-Mare and help it grow and thrive in the years ahead. Fond-Mare is a community marked by resilience and faith, and your prayers and support can make a life-changing difference.
Current Church Needs
updated April 2026
-
This church is in urgent need of structural repairs, as large, deep cracks run through the concrete, extending across the floors and up the walls.
-
The roof and its support beams are in need of replacement, as there are multiple leaks and several beams are missing, compromising the structure’s stability.
-
Water is not reaching the cistern because the slab is severely deteriorated, and the piping is broken and poorly secured, requiring full replacement and proper reinforcement.
-
The church needs an accessibility ramp to accommodate those who use wheelchairs or are unable to climb steps, ensuring everyone can safely attend and participate in worship.
