“Education is the strongest bridge a child can cross to escape the weight of poverty.”
Primary education was the only level of schooling available in Bombardopolis for many years. Graduating from 6th grade was considered a major milestone, as it marked the highest level of education a child could achieve locally. Thankfully, Papa François—founder of Emmanuel Children’s Center—along with other dedicated educators, recognized the need for continued learning. Through their advocacy, Collège Évangélique Baptiste Emmanuel later implemented a high school program, expanding opportunities for the community. Today, our primary levels include grades 1–6, and the primary graduation ceremony remains a cherished and celebrated achievement in Bombardopolis.
However, our primary school still faces significant challenges. The building that houses the primary classrooms did not pass inspection in the past, and major repairs and improvements are needed to create a safer, quieter, and more productive learning environment. Teachers often struggle with behavior management due to large class sizes, and many families cannot afford essential school supplies, books, or shoes for their children.
We welcome prayers and support as we work toward strengthening our primary program. Our school needs mentoring, resources, and financial assistance to rise to the level we know is possible. At this time, we are underperforming compared to other primary schools in the region—but with guidance, investment, and community support, we believe a brighter future for our students is absolutely within reach.
2025-2026 Tuition Fees
The cost of tuition for our 2025-2026 primary students is $62-$85 per child for the entire academic year. This fee does not include uniforms, socks, shoes, textbooks, backpacks, or school supplies—expenses that are normally covered by the parent. This year, our goal is to help bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the additional fees required for a child to attend school.
To do this, we have created a scholarship program to assist families during these challenging times and to open the door for more children to receive an education—whether for one semester or the full school year. Through this program, each child will receive a used uniform at a discounted rate, along with a new backpack and supplies made possible by the generosity of our Amazon Wishlist supporters.
