With the support of many, through donations, serving and prayers we have been able to manage the upkeep of the orphanage. After Hurricane Matthew, the buildings were left in an inhabitable state. Over the years, we have restored the buildings just enough to get us by. Many of the buildings are now in need of major structural repairs. As we push forward to become more self sustainable, we have a list of equipment and projects needed to make that possible. Highlighted below are our urgent projects as well as information about our next big project: "Renew Hope." There are many ways YOU can be apart of this next chapter of the orphanage at Emmanuel Children's Center of Bombardopolis Haiti. Please send us an email if you are interested in getting involved.
As you surf through the needs you will notice the astronomical costs to build in Haiti, due to the state of the country cost of materials have gone up by 300% and access has been extremely limited.
We truly pray the country will turn around as this is about the toughest of times we have ever experienced.

URGENT: EXPAND SOLAR SYSTEM
As you may already know, we have made significant strides in our journey towards sustainability by implementing a solar power system. This endeavor has allowed us to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute positively to the environment. However, we find ourselves at a crucial juncture where we need additional support to further enhance our solar power infrastructure. Our primary goal is to expand our solar panel capacity, increase the number of batteries, and upgrade our inverters.

URGENT: BATTERIES
Although the needs are endless here at the orphanage one of our most urgent needs is a new battery bank as our old batteries will completely die soon. We are praying to be able to purchase lithium batteries for the solar system before the orphanage goes back into a total black out. Lithium batteries are known to last approximately 20 years, so it is our hope that once we are able to get the power issues resolved, it will be eradicated for decades to come.

URGENT: KIDS DORMS REPAIRSWe believe that every child deserves to sleep in a clean and safe environment. Due to wear an tear over the years, the building in which our children lay their heads every night could potentially collapse if not addressed soon. This 50 year old building is definitely showing its age as termites continue to eat away at the wooden beams and center pole. This project will be the first phase of our "Renew Hope: Orphanage Renovation Project."

BOY'S BATHROOMSIn 2020 we were able to restore the girl's bathroom with actual showers and toilets, eliminating the need for them to have to use cement latrine holes and buckets to bathe. Unfortunately, our budget was not enough to provide the same for the boys. It is our wish to be able to provide the boys with clean and safe restrooms where they can have privacy for their hygiene needs.

CAFETERIA RESTORATIONThe cafeteria is the second most used building at Emmanuel. This 50 year old building serves as not only the cafeteria but also a worship space, study room, kitchen, shelter during the summer heat and rain. The cracks along the foundation of the building continue to worsen as we pray to one day be able to have the funds to be able to restore and reinforce it.

SAFETY WALLThe safety of our compound is of utmost importance to us as we shelter the children, especially during such times in Haiti where security is no longer guaranteed. The compound has many unsecured areas where the brick wall that surrounds a large portion of the property is not finished. In addition, the side neighboring the cemetery is almost non-existent leaving the children afraid to walk to that side of the compound. We hope and pray to be able to fix this issue of insecurity in the near future by adding to the missing areas of this wall.

Renew Hope: Orphanage Renovation Project
Over the years, this cherished institution has provided shelter, love, and education to orphaned and disadvantaged children, offering them a chance at a brighter future. However, as time has passed, our building has become outdated and unsafe according to the new standards set by (IBSR).
The safety and well-being of the children under our care are of paramount importance to us. That's why we are launching the "Renew Hope: Orphanage Renovation Project" to ensure that our facilities not only meet but exceed the IBSR standards, creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment for the children.
How you can make a difference:
1. Donate: Your financial contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant impact on our renovation efforts. Every dollar will go directly towards upgrading the building, ensuring it meets safety standards, and providing better living conditions for the children.
