We would like to introduce you to the hardworking men and women on site at Emmanuel Children's Center of Bombardopolis Haiti. Our employees help ensure a safe home for the children and care for their every day needs. We could not keep our doors open without their support and hard work. On average our caretakers make $50 (or 7,000 HTG) per month. We pray with more support we will be able to increase their pay with your gift of sponsorship. MADAM MOSENY
​Director of Administration

Ms. Moseny as everyone calls her, is mom to all the kids at the orphanage. After being raised at the orphanage for years, she went on to study nursing and computer science. A short while after graduating she followed the calling the Lord placed in her heart and returned to serve the children at the orphanage in 2015. She has been caring for the children 24/7 since her return. Ms Moseny is one of the most humble individuals you will meet, she truly understands what it is like to be raised at the home and is a pillar of comfort and guidance to the children. In her spare time, she serves the youth at church and volunteers in any ways she can to serve.

MADAM KETLEY
Sleep in Nanny

Madam Ketley is the second mom to all the kids, she has been the sleep in nanny serving the children full time for many years. She is truly mama to all the kids specially the little ones. She has helped raise all the babies that have come to Emmanuel, never hesitating to take them in under her care, even if it meant endless sleepless nights. Mama Ketely is also the one to wake the children up early in the morning and get them all ready for school, from doing the girl's hair to making sure their uniforms look ok, she truly is such a blessing to the Emmanuel family.

MADAM CANAS
Cook

Madam Canas is not only the amazing cook but she also looks after the children while she is busy preparing the yummy meals. Madam Canas has one of the toughest jobs at Emmanuel as she normally starts cooking at 4:30 a.m. over fire that she prepares with wood or charcoal. Our budget does not allow for the use of propane gas at this time. The smoke and heat in the little shack where she cooks is not easy to deal with, yet she does it with a smile on her face and makes the most delicious meals out of the most basic ingredients. We really could never thank Madam Canas enough for all her sacrifice to make sure the children are well fed. She has 6 children of her own.

MADAM FOMBRUM
Nanny & Cook

Madam Fombrun is one of the hardest working ladies. She is one of the nannies that helps care for all the kids, making sure they are ready for school every morning, that they do all of their homework, bathe and get ready for bed in the evenings. While the kids are in school Madam Fombrun helps at the kindergarten where she helps get the classrooms ready before and after school and also serves the little kiddos their lunch. We all wonder where Madam Fombrun gets her energy from! When we have teams volunteering, she cooks delicious authentic Haitian meals for them.

MADAM BERTHO
Nanny

Madam Bertho has been caring for Francisco since shortly after he arrived at Emmanuel in 2019. She is dedicated full time to caring for all of Francisco's needs during the day. She helps him walk around the property, stimulate him with play time, feed him and bathe him. Madam Bertho is very patient with Francisco, there are many communication barriers with him being non-verbal, but she and him have developed a special bond where she knows exactly what he needs. She is a hard worker and helps with many chores around the orphanage.

MR. CANAS
Handyman

Mr. Canas is one of the most humble and hard working men, he is the husband of Madam Canas. What a blessing it is for us to have both of them on our team, as they truly make it feel like one big family. Mr. Canas spends his days doing all kinds of physical labor, from walking miles to collect wood for cooking, to caring for the goats and chickens, to helping with any ongoing projects at the orphanage. He was a big help with Papa who has Parkinsons. Canas, was the one to help him day in and day out always with a smile.

RICLAUDE
​Handyman/Guardian

Riclaude is so much more than the orphanages security guard, he is one of our handy men and the one to go to for anything that requires hard labor and muscles. Riclaude is always lending a helping hand wherever it is needed around the property, he is also the one we all go to during mango and avocado season. He is so good at climbing the trees to get us the yummy fruits, he truly leaves us all in awe with how high he is able to climb those trees! Riclaude has two children that often come hang out with the children at Emmanuel. He is known to always have a smile on his face.

STERVENSON
Orphanage's MacGyver

He has taken on many leadership roles in the past couple years. He transports the students in the large bus, he has been helping Frankie set up internet towers and he is always fixing things! When Frankie is away, he maintains the internet business on his own and provides tech support for the customers. He is very kind and always willing to help. He is honest and plays a big role in helping the younger children. We are praying for sponsorship so he can move on and use his talents to help others in the community. WASH LADIES
Part-time

We have two wash ladies that come a couple times a week to do the children's laundry. All of the washing is done by hand and then hung to dry. These ladies work so hard, bent over scrubbing clothes for long hours. It is not easy work, as most of the clothes typically have dirt and stains from the children playing. It is amazing to see how they keep church clothes looking so clean and white with all the dirt and dust around. We are so thankful for their hard work and hope they feel the appreciation through your sponsorship.
