The Emmanuel Main Campus is the second building erected in 1983, following the construction of the orphanage's main dorm. Thanks to a wonderful administrative team and community, it is one of our stronger churches of all 38. Emmanuel Main Campus is very committed to strengthening the faith of our youth by sharing the gospel, worship and youth group events. You can support our youth program linked below.
Charles Chatman was robbed in Jacksonville, FL at gunpoint while pulling a trailer in preparation for an upcoming trip to Haiti. The thieves took his credit card and all his money that he had raised to support our Emmanuel Church. He found himself stuck in Jacksonville but needed to drive back to Missouri. Feeling embarrassed and discouraged by the situation, he was considering quieting the vision all together. The news spread of the robbery and a Christian radio station called and asked him to please share his story. It took some prayers, but he finally agreed. Within 14 days, his story helped raise twice the amount the thieves stole. He proceeded with his trip to Haiti as planned. Charles Chatman built a double wall on this church as a testimony to remember how faithful our God is. These walls make the church stronger, but Pastor Chatman sees it as a testimony. |
Rebuild after Hurricane Matthew
Most of our buildings on the Emmanuel Children's Center property got hit hard by the devastating hurricane of 2010. In a country already struggling, experiencing a natural disaster to this extend was heartbreaking. Through the power of prayer and faith, the community, missionaries and staff at the orphanage helped rebuild the Emmanuel Main Campus. It is the Emmanuel Church in the region, offering services Saturday night and Sunday morning.
