With the help of many mission trips and generous donations, we have been able to complete projects that provide the children with some of their most essential needs like running water, showers, bathrooms, electricity, clothes, dental services and more. Below you will find just a few of our completed projects over the years and how God was in the works for each of them!
It is our prayer that with your support the list of completed projects will continue to reflect the progress we can all make together. To support one of our current ongoing projects, visit Urgent Needs.

Clothing Drive
In August of 2023, with the help of many, we were able to provide each child at the orphanage with a few brand new and gently used outfits. This was a huge deal for the 36 children, as the conditions in which they live and play really take a toll on their daily clothes. Every single item was purchased off of our customized Amazon wishlist thanks to such generous supporters! All the items arrived at Emmanuel in September and were distributed to each child on October 8th, we even got to share the distribution LIVE on Facebook! Below you can find our on-going Amazon Wish list with some of the basic necessities that the children need daily and other items as needed.

Ice MachineA big thanks to our long time friend, Mr. Belle. He is a firm believer in self-sustainability and finding new opportunities to generate an income in a country with limited job opportunities. He donated a commercial ice machine for our Eco-Ice Project which will allow us to sell snow cones for a small fee. This is just the beginning of this project as we would love to be able have multiple machines to use this as a source of income for the orphanage and school by selling the yummy treats to the students and community. During shipment the machine leaked freon. We are currently working on fixing it so that we may put it into production as soon as possible.

Almost Completely Off the Grid
Thanks to our dear partners, friends and supporters, we are able to operate almost everything on the new solar system. While we still need additional panels and batteries in order to power our water well pump, we are beyond grateful for the way the Lord has provided with your help. This project was a great opportunity to teach our older boys first hand the ins and outs of solar energy.
From welding the support system for the solar panels, to the final bolts, the boys proudly participated in every step of the way! |

Power CableIn 2022, we experienced two surprising electrical fires. After mentioning our concerns to a long time friend, we received a generous donation from National Marine Suppliers of electrical wire. This new wire was used to replace the old extension cord wire that was nothing short of a fire hazard. Thanks to our new wire we have been able to run dental missions to serve the children and community without the fear of losing an entire mission building to a fire.

Turf
Thanks to a long time volunteer, friend and supporter the children have a clean and safe area where to play, study, and enjoy a break outdoors. This turf was the first part of a playground project for the children, but due to missing pieces and time constriction the playground was never built. However, this area is still by far the children's favorite place where they spend hours day in and day out. Prior to this turf area, the children had no place to play or hang out without getting dirt all over them. This area has truly been a huge blessing to the children and it is our hope to be able to continue to replicate this project onto other areas of the property when our budget allows. We have always dreamt of seeing the orphanage transformed into a clean environment in which the kids can be kids and run around without having to deal with getting dirty the moment they step outside of their dorms.

Bus Donation
|
In July of 2021, we got to witness another of our Lord's abundant blessings, this time a high end barely used Bus! Transportation is a huge issue in our area of Haiti. Previously, the only way to take the children out on field trips to a local soccer game or the beach had been to rent one of the local trucks that are used to transport supplies, which are very costly. This had limited any activities that we could do with the children outside of the orphanage. One day, one of our long time friends and supporters called to say the Lord had placed it in his heart to donate this high end bus that he had purchased for a business that never flourished in Florida. Shipping and getting this bus out of customs was definitely another miracle that only the Lord could have made ways for. Since the arrival of the bus, we have been able to take the children on multiple beach trips which they always look forward to, we have taken youth groups to church events, we have helped groups get to funerals and church services, we have carried the graduating students to take heir final exams hours from Bombardopolis, we have taken our kids on field trips to soccer games and sight seeing in surrounding neighborhoods. To say the least, this bus has been beyond a blessing. Unfortunately, the maintenance of this bus is costly and not in our budget, if you would like to make sure that the children and community are able to continue benefiting from such a blessing, please feel free to donate by clicking on the link below.

Girl's BathroomsWe are so thankful that finally in 2021, we were able to give the girls more decent bathrooms! Under our Urgent Projects you will see the latrines and bathing area the boys are still using. We believe pictures speak louder than words. Bucket baths were the only way the kids knew to bathe, and with constant skin epidemics like scabies, ringworm, warts and others we are so thankful that the girls now how decent showers with running water to bathe in and clean bathrooms. It is our hope to be able to one day provide the boys with the same as they currently bathe in an open area with no privacy and continue to use buckets.

New MattressesThis was another one of the Lord's ways to show us His abundance of love. After sharing with friends, family and followers the conditions in which the children had been sleeping, the village behind these children met their needs in an abundant way. Within very little time we received the most generous donations, a young friend even gifted his Bat-Mitzva towards this mattress fundraiser. Just like that in no time, we were able to purchase mattresses for ALL the kids. The kids even received a new mattress cover and set of sheets. An extra bonus was that these mattresses were manufactured in-country which is always a great way to support the local economy and help Haitians propel forward.

Water Pump Installation
For months the children at Emmanuel were forced to walk long distances to fill their buckets of water because their water well pump stopped working. Thanks to the caring hearts and generous donations from our supporters in 2020 we were able to purchase and install an amazing water pump and all the cabling and plumbing that goes with it. This pump is able to extract all the water that is needed to meet the needs of the children at a record speed. Seeing the joy on the children's faces and hearing them praise the Lord as they saw water come out of the well again is a memory all of us will never forget. We still used our generator to supply the power to run our water pump. We hope one day to expand our solar system enough to supply enough energy to run the pump.

Rebuild Generator HousingOne commitment we take very seriously at Emmanuel is to steward the support we receive the best way we can. This goes from stretching every dime as we budget for needs to making sure the staff is trained to maintain and care for any and all equipment we receive. In this case protecting this valued generator from being exposed to the harsh environment and blocking free access to it was a high priority on our list. With a very limited budget and local help we restored the old broken down generator housing and fabricated a new gate. We are happy to share that 3 years later the generator is still running and looking like new as the older boys were trained by Frankie on how to properly use and maintain it. We believe that it is important for them to learn at a young age the value of such blessings while also teaching them life skills that will serve them along the way.

Internet Project
In 2020, Frankie finally started an Internet project that the Lord had given him the vision for several years prior. Although Frankie had a one week round trip ticket to fix the water well pump for the children, God had a different plan. His one week trip turned into months, then years of using personal funding and hard labor to bring this internet project to life. This self-funded project started with providing the Orphanage and campus with basic internet connectivity. At this time internet was almost non-existent and often required driving miles down the mountain in order to find enough signal to send a text message or make a simple phone call. The project then expanded to serving other missionaries who were having the same connectivity issues that made their daily missions and long distance communications very difficult. God surely had a plan for this project as for the last few years the Telecom has helped Frankie self-sustain while serving full time in Haiti, it has helped pay education for children in the community, it has helped pay medical bills, hospitalizations, funerals and has provided aide to many individuals in the community to name a few of the ways the Lord has used this vision to bless others. Lastly, it has been keeping the doors open of the orphanage since early 2023. We are believing in the Lord for this vision and growth so that this project can continue to help those in need while providing Frankie with a self-sustainable way to serve.

New Generator 2020
|
We are so thankful for the support from our extended family. We spent every dime raised for this project, the generator came with 6 new street solar lamps that were installed around the property, new triplex cable, breaker boxes, under ground pipes to run the wires, extra diesel, first service kit with oil and filter. None of this would have been possible without your support. We had no idea we would have been blessed with a new generator, the water pump alone was a long and expensive battle. We stick together and overcome the problems for the kingdom of God.

Water Tower Build
When then Lord provides, He provides abundantly! He not only provided water for the children but He provided a water pump so powerful that the kids would no longer have to wait hours to fill buckets but instead drums can be filled in minutes! With the help of so many followers and donors we were able to build a water tower holding 1,000 gallons of water, to be able to distribute it across the property. No more carrying small buckets to bathe, drink and cook, the orphanage now has piping going directly to their bathrooms and kitchen where they have extra reserve tanks. We surely don't take this abundant blessing for granted and in fact we are now able to share water with the elderly and needy in the community as they walk long distances to fill their buckets at our property.

Boy's Dorm Roof Repairs
|
For years without complaining, the boys have been sleeping under a leaky roof that they patched up with garbage bags. After sharing the conditions they were sleeping in with our friends and supporters we were able to raise enough funds to replace their roof and give them a safe place to rest. Although the foundation to the building still needs re-enforcement we are beyond thankful that this project was able to be completed with the generous donations and local help, making the most out of a tight budget.
The boys are definitely grateful! |

Nursery Renovation Jan 2020Thanks to the help of a mission team we hosted in January 2020 we were able to fix a spare room in the kids dorms to provide a nursery space for new babies. We were able to seal off the ceiling with some sheet rock, prep and paint the walls, build two cribs that were previously donated and shipped, and assign a play area. This project was really uplifting for the kids and staff as they all played a roll in restoring this empty room and transforming it into a nursery. This room was used to do Francisco’s therapy for years and it now has been transformed into the boys dorm for the younger boys as of 2023.

2018
Mission House RepairsWe are so thankful for missionaries and locals that came together to make some much needed repairs to the mission house. Although the budget has always been tight, through the years a new screen was placed to cover the patio, a new door was installed, a toilet and sink were installed, the small bathroom was tiled, the house has been painted, to name a few of the small projects. This house has hosted so many missionaries for decades, it has served to host short-term and long-term missions. It has also been a space to gather all the children for activities as well as a dental clinic during dental mission trips. It has been used to host weddings for Church members, host pastors during the annual conferences and more. Although there are still many repairs needed, like the leaking termite infested roof, we are thankful for all this building means and how it has served throughout the years.

A Chicken Coop from the Ground UpAs the Lord provided, with the left over material from the school roof repairs, a devoted missionary spent several weeks at the orphanage building one of the biggest blessings to initiate our goal of self sustainability, a chicken coop. With the help of the kids and orphanage staff, this chicken coop was home to 20+ chickens. For years this project has given the children nutrition they could count on from the daily eggs. In 2019 this coop was expanded to hold even more chickens which equates to more nutrition for the kids! We will be forever grateful for the hard labor of missionaries who use their gifts to serve the children.

2017
Building Bunk Beds
Ever since the earthquake in year 2010, the children had been sleeping on cardboards, broken down bed frames and a few worn mattresses on the floor. After many prayers and a fight to still keep the doors open to be able to provide the children with shelter, in the year 2017 the Lord answered their prayers. A team from Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale worked day and night to build the children enough bunk beds for all to sleep on. This was quite an emotional trip for all the volunteers involved as the Lord allowed all of them to witness the happiness in the children's faces after having a safe and clean bed to sleep on.

Mattress ReplacementAfter the bunk beds were built, the children still did not have clean mattresses to sleep on. In 2017 the Lord changed that as National Marine Suppliers donated and shipped the children several brand new mattresses. After so many years of hardships the children finally had a comfortable bed to sleep on. We will forever be thankful to the support of Mary and National Marine Suppliers.

Cafeteria Roof Rebuild
A special thank you to the men from Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale once again! They worked so hard to repair the cafeteria roof for the children during the trip, it was a miracle the were able to finish this timely task. The Lord's favor was certainly with these men as they used their skills to bless the children with a safe space in which they eat, study, and do their daily devotions day and night. The Lord definitely answered the children's prayers through these volunteers and Church.

LibraryIn 2017 we were honored to host our long time partners from France, MCPH, Mirielle and Guy. They brought in enough books to gift the children with their very own little library. This was extra special as they provided the children with all kinds of books ranging from children's books, to school books for all ages. Their library still serves the children today in 2023 as you will find them at any given time of the day sitting on the ground by the door or under the shade of the almond trees sharing a book together. We are so grateful for the impact that these books have on the children as they develop and shape their little minds.

Cistern Repair
Thanks to the support of MCHP in 2017 we were able to fix the broken cistern where the children collected rain water for their daily use. This cistern has blessed the orphanage and others in need with countless gallons of water throughout the years. It is hard to grasp how much we take water for granted until you live in conditions where one of the main prayer requests is for rain to pour down. This repair project was one that has had so many ripple effects as we not only have enough water to address all the daily needs but also work on gardening and bless others who need water for their daily needs as well.
